The Covid-19 Treatment Unit of the St. Nicholas Hospital located at 18, Faramobi Ajike St, Anthony Village, has been shut down by the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency, (HEFAMAA) for non-approval of covid-19 treatment.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Abiola Idown who disclosed this today in her office at Tisco Plaza, Alausa, Ikeja advised health facilities in the State against unauthorized admission and treatment of COVID19 cases, warning that any facility caught violating the laid-down covid-19 protocols will be sanctioned in line with the extant provision of the law.
She reiterated that only facilities approved by the State Government for COVID19 case management are expected to carry out the management of COVID19 cases.
“I wish to advise health facilities operating in Lagos State to adhere strictly to the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) principle, maintain a high degree of suspicion for #COVID19 and stick to the laid down protocols for COVID19 suspicion,” she stated.
She added that IPC will help reduce human-to-human transmission and secondary infections among close contacts and health care workers.
