PUBLIC NOTICE TO HEALTH FACILITIES IN LAGOS STATE

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Lagos State Ministry of Health has been receiving information that some health facilities in Lagos State are not complying with the laid down protocol given to health facilities on COVID-19 Response.
Specifically, some health facilities are independently managing COVID-19, testing for, or admitting and managing patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases, which are against the laid down protocols stipulated for management of cases of COVID-19 in Lagos State.
Presently, the testing, diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 in Lagos State is within the sole purview of the Lagos State Government, in conjunction with the Federal Government of Nigeria. Only health facilities approved by the Lagos State Ministry of Health have the right to test for, treat and manage COVID-19 cases.
In line with the above, all health facilities are only required to notify the Lagos State COVID-19 Response Team of any suspected COVID 19 cases, through the following phone numbers; 08000CORONA, 08000267662 or the Ministry of Health for sample transportation and related advice on referral to Lagos State approved isolation and treatment centers.
Effective immediately also, health facilities that are already conducting testing, diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 are hereby notified to cease and desist from any procedures however described, pertaining to the COVID-19 or its symptoms.
Failure to comply with this notice will result in Lagos State seeking legal redress against such Health Facility to the full extent of the law as provided in Section 58 of the Public Health Law, Chapter P16, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
