The Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) is pleased to announce its commemoration of World Patient Safety Day 2025, which will hold on Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th September 2025. This year’s observance focuses on the safety of newborns and children, underscoring the importance of safeguarding lives from the very start.
The event will feature:
Day One (Monday 15th September): A symposium bringing together policymakers, health professionals, and clinical students to share knowledge, research, and strategies for safer care. It is technical, professional and policy-focused- finding solutions. The focus will be on final year and penultimate year students to orientate them early on quality healthcare and patient safety even before they graduate from training institutions. This will help raise their consciousness about the importance of quality healthcare before graduating from school while the Agency continue its effort to improve the quality of care being delivered by the practitioners
Day Two (17th September): A celebration that will highlight the outcomes of Day One discussions, feature keynote presentations, award presentations and a collective call to action for improved newborn and child safety.
We warmly invite all stakeholders, partners, and members of the public within and outside Nigeria to participate in this important event virtually or physically.
